Procedural desert ruins bear three ovals, a triangle sequence, and a diamond. Hints for the eyes, or ancient lore?
DebatedRuins generate randomly across the surface of the desert, and some are carved with small, deliberate-looking markings.
A handful of distinct motifs recur across these ruins. Like the Master Statues, they read as more purposeful than typical background decoration, which is why the community scrutinises them.
Several of the motifs echo symbols seen elsewhere in Noita, from alchemical signs to the game's recurring three-eye imagery.
A set of three ovals arranged in a triangle. It echoes Noita's pervasive three-eye motif (the boss Kolmisilma = 'three-eye', the three creation eggs, the Master of Masters' robe) and also resembles the alchemical symbol for oil.
A diamond glyph. Diamonds recur in-game: the essence chambers were formerly diamond-shaped, and the diamond is also the alchemical symbol for soap and echoes the spell-refresh icon.
A row of three triangular strokes in alternating orientation, mirroring the alternating up/down grouping used to read the eye trigrams.
Ruins bearing these markings appear more often in the East parallel world (several, each with diamonds) and don't show up on the in-game map.

The down/up/down triangle sequence plus the diamond may encode how to read (and rotate) the eye trigrams.
The markings may be decorative lore handed down by the earlier civilization, with no puzzle content. The diamond could be the essence chambers, spell refresh, or even the alchemic symbol for soap.
A common reading is that the diamond is simply the spell-refresh symbol; an alternative is the Verikristalli (blood crystal), which is also diamond-shaped. Source: u/Complete-Basket-291
The three strokes may be movement instructions (up, down, up with distances) rather than an eye reading-order hint. Source: u/Complete-Basket-291
