A modeled space hides behind the bookshelves. The table is a Mora Jai layout. But the trigger remains unknown.
UnsolvedSetup: The Bookshop drafts exclusively from the Library. Looking above the left bookcase, there's clearly no wall behind it: a gap is visible. The room map confirms the left side isn't shaded yellow. Crown molding traces the outline of the hidden compartment.
The table: A table in the center of the room holds books arranged in a pattern that matches a Mora Jai puzzle box layout, a 3×3 grid with colored books. The table model is in a separate layer called "clickable" in the game files, but no click interaction has been found.
Behind the shelves: Data miners have confirmed a modeled section exists behind the bookcase, but it appears empty. This is similar to how the Clock Tower secret room, Rough Drafts location, and Trading Post still all appear empty until triggered correctly.
The newspaper clue: A newspaper found elsewhere in the estate shows a picture of the Bookshop with the shelves arranged differently, implying the current configuration is not permanent.
Library connection: A hidden blue memo in the Library states: "If you have a hall pass, bookshop will be more likely to be drawn while drafting in the library." This suggests a deliberate link between the two rooms, though the hall pass alone doesn't unlock anything in the Bookshop.
The Bookshop table is in a separate layer called "clickable" in the game's object tree, unusual for a non-interactive object. Normally, clickable objects have a Box Collider + FSM (finite state machine) attached. The table has the layer designation but no attached interaction mechanism has been found.
The books on the table are arranged in a pattern consistent with a Mora Jai puzzle box: a 3×3 grid of colored elements. The puzzle can be solved with purple corners, black corners, or most colors except blue and orange (blue copies the center cell).
A newspaper elsewhere in the estate shows a picture of the Bookshop with shelves positioned differently, suggesting the current layout isn't fixed and could potentially be rearranged to provide access to the hidden area.
A hidden blue memo found in the Library states: "If you have a hall pass, bookshop will be more likely to be drawn while drafting in the library." The Hall Pass increases Bookshop draft probability but doesn't trigger any interaction inside the room.
The Bookshop's Room Directory view shows the compartment in an open state, potentially revealing how it opens in-game. This is the only room where the directory view shows a different state than what players normally see.
FuryForged notes that all known secret areas (Clock Tower room, Rough Drafts location, Trading Post still) also appear empty when accessed via data mining; their contents only load after the correct in-game trigger. The empty Bookshop compartment follows this pattern.
The Antechamber was a grey room (greyprint) in the demo but became a blueprint (blue) in the full release. This is relevant because the Mora Jai table has a grey/dark book that doesn't match any current room color: it may have originally represented the Antechamber.
The books represent room colors in a 3×3 Mora Jai grid. If you draft rooms matching those exact colors in a 3×3 square on the estate map, something might happen in the Bookshop. Problem: there are no greyprints to match the grey book, making a perfect match impossible with current room types.
If the table encodes a Mora Jai solution, where do you input it? The Mirror Room lets you press buttons; if pressed in the order needed to solve this specific Mora Jai layout, it might trigger something. Extremely tedious due to room constraints on corner access.
Some rooms have inaccessible corners that become reachable when specific adjacent rooms are drafted. The 7-door locked passage (Hallway) or a Mechanarium door placed adjacent to the Bookshop's hidden corner might provide access, similar to how Foundation works.
The Utility box is described as "inspired by the Mora Jai." Could the Bookshop's Mora Jai layout provide a second solution to the VAC? However, the VAC has only 6 lights, not 9, making a direct 3×3 mapping unclear. Perhaps 6 steps to solve it if we knew which color.
Despite the blue memo linking the Hall Pass to the Bookshop, carrying the Hall Pass into the Bookshop doesn't enable any new clicks, open the bookcase, or reveal hidden objects. It only affects draft probability.
Multiple players have tried clicking every book on the shelves and table. Nothing responds. The table's "clickable" layer doesn't actually have an attached click handler or FSM in the current game build.
Attempting to leave the cell where the hidden area would be empty during drafting (or placing an Aquarium there) had no visible effect on the Bookshop. The ante-chamber placement hasn't been confirmed to work either.

Like other secret areas that appear empty until triggered, the Bookshop compartment may require a game update (Dirigiblocks?) to become accessible. The "clickable" layer and modeled space suggest it's prepared for future content rather than cut. The Library's deep connection to Auravei lore makes this room a prime candidate for DLC puzzles.
The table encodes a specific Mora Jai puzzle state. Solving it (with purple or black corners) produces an output pattern. That output could be a code to input somewhere else: the Mirror Room buttons, the VAC, or a room combination on the draft board. The answer isn't in the Bookshop itself; it's a clue pointing outward.
Since the Bookshop only drafts from the Library, a room already entwined with deep Auravei lore, the trigger mechanism could be hidden in the Library's code rather than the Bookshop's. This would explain why data miners find nothing in the Bookshop files specifically. A multi-room chain (Library action → Bookshop effect) would be novel for the game.
Drafting a specific room adjacent to the Bookshop, particularly the 7-door Hallway or a room with a Mechanarium door, might provide physical access to the hidden corner, similar to how Foundation works. The newspaper showing different shelf positions implies the room's geometry can change based on context.
The grey/dark book on the Mora Jai table doesn't match any current room color. In the demo, the Antechamber was grey. If the puzzle was designed when Antechamber was a greyprint, it may now be unsolvable, or the grey represents "no room" (empty cell), Blackprints (Throne Room, Treasure Trove), or the Permanent Room.
Some believe this is unfinished or cut content, the gaming equivalent of "Mew is under the truck." The clickable layer without a handler and the empty modeled space could be development artifacts that were never completed. However, the newspaper clue and Library memo suggest intentional design rather than leftovers.
